TM2 Touch Key Features

TM2 Touch is a special part of TM2 designed to allow you to enter and store your clinical notes electronically in the most efficient and intuitive way. It replaces your written assessment and treatment notes.
  • It has an intuitive interface which has been designed for use specifically with Touch Screen and Tablet PC technologies. You touch and write your notes directly on screen. There is no need to type anything (although you can if you wish).
  • It brings total flexibility in setting the system up so that it matches how you work. You set up assessment and modality 'templates'. These are simple rules that the system can follow and are based on your existing notations.
  • It comes with built in body charts and the ability to b when needed. Also add photographs to a patient's record.
  • It has single touch note entry, including industry standard 'maitland' notation for maximum efficiency.
  • Historical charting ensures that you can see all the relevant charts for the patient.
  • Clear, user friendly screen layouts with large text make the job easy - even for non-technical or untrained staff.
  • TM2 Touch is pre-configured with default assessment templates and modalities, but is totally configurable to the way that you work.

You don't have to be technical to use TM2 Touch. It is designed along the lines of all good Touch Screen applications with the assumption that the user should not need to have hours of training to use it. It guides you through all aspects while still allowing the experienced user to enter their data at speed.

The Problem

Clinical notes are a necessity. You should create them so they are readable, consistent and thorough.

Then they are stored, retrieved, read by others, collated into reports and analysed for audits. All of which are time consuming, expensive and error prone activities.Nearly everyone agrees it would be much better if clinical notes were stored in a computer. All of these tasks could be simplified saving huge amounts of time and money.

The issue has always been the same: how do you get them in the computer in the first place?

Computer Based Clinical Notes: The Issues

There are two key issues to overcome before computer based clinical notes can be accepted:

  • Notes must be captured during the consultation. There is no time to do it afterwards.
  • The computer must not detract from the patient. You need to maintain the body language that says ‘I am listening’. There is no time to stare at a computer screen and type long notes!

Computer Based Clinical Notes: The Solution

Around 90% of clinical notes are the same things written over and over again. A computer system could already been set up with the clinical notes for the majority of circumstances. For each part of an assessment the appropriate notes could be selected with a single touch of a button.

With the right design, you could operate the computer with a side-ways glance and a light touch of the screen so your attention remains with the patient. You could integrate images and body charts and document them in seconds. Show them to the patient and give a more professional service.

If this were all possible in an easy to use and flexible system you could truly capture clinical notes on a computer during your consultations.

Well now it is.

Welcome to TM2 Touch Clinical Notes.

TM2 Touch Interface

The clever part of TM2 Touch is the interface. It is designed to lead you through every step but is totally configurable to the way you work.

It is simple but very fast to use - there are no unnecessary steps involved, but both the novice and the expert will be able to use it equally as well.
There are many built in mechanisms to aid your data entry such as,
  • Large clear text so that you don't have to study the screen to find the detail you want.
  • Large buttons and fields so that there is no danger of you picking the wrong option.
  • Pick lists - anywhere there is a choice to be made, TM2 Touch will present you with a configurable pick list of options. Just select the one you want. Even in free text fields, you can set up common words and phrases to allow you to have one touch entry .
  • On-screen keyboards - where text must be added (and we've kept these to a minimum) on-screen keyboards can be used. Of course you can use a real keyboard too if that is easier.
  • Intelligent logic - the system can be set up to prompt for information based on the answers you give, so very detailed assessments can be designed with a series of questions and sub questions etc.
  • Clear notation - the information you enter is stored as you would write your notes, in sentences on screen, so it is clear what you have entered and you can read it quickly and easily.
